Located right inside the leasing office, a mural of the original The Nations neighborhood logo is the focal point of the space. A reminder of this area’s industrial roots then, evolution to a haven for the arts is evident with the transition of flooring materials.

Our goal for this retail space was to make the product shine, and let the other elements of the design stand out in a more neutral, simple manner. The 14' ceilings certainly allowed for a grand nature but could feel like a "box" if not design intentionally. Each wall in this space was treated differently, giving it's own identity. Ceiling light panels were required for budget purposes, so we streamlined by making the acoustic ceiling tiles and grid black. This also gives the affect of a taller ceiling. The stained concrete floor pattern in two colors added interest on an unexpected surface.

When a leader in the fabric industry brought their innovation center to this historic building, a beautiful blend of heritage and foresight meet. Expansive city views and existing columns blend with the natural textures and tones of the interior finishes, allowing the manufacturers' products to shine.

Designed to be a comfortable gathering space for extended family, the living room draws warmth and interest from a wood clad fireplace wall, modern limestone mantel, and layered textures in the rug and upholstery. We selected performance fabrics and stain treated as many materials as possible throughout the home to make it easy to live in and relax within.

The elegant curving staircase was updated with simple wood balusters and a bespoke stair runner. We simplified the space while adding a more formal appeal with wood wall detailing, a custom marsh grass chandelier, and an elegant rug. The shell back chair is an antique find that was reupholstered for this location.

Since this space was very long and narrow, we wanted to create two focal points in the room so each space felt as if it could stand on its own. In the kitchen, we selected ceramic tiles with a natural black stone appearance to offset the custom designed satin gold hood to draw your eye in. In the breakfast space, we selected a deep navy vinyl grasscloth wallpaper from JF Fabrics to enhance the natural landscape and lighting. All surrounding materials and finishes were selected in lighter tones to allow the eye to flow seamlessly through the space.

This image shows the addition of the new screened porch with wood burning fireplace. Bringing the deck up to the living room floor level eliminated several small sets of steps. The expansion of the single level deck created more room for various seating arrangements - and the reconfigured staircase was moved to the far side of the deck, allowing for more usable deck space. The step lights integrate well with the landscape lighting.

This grand built-in is the crown jewel of our foot-loose and fancy-free study. Including custom storage to hide a multi-function printer, sconces for additional reading light, and literal jewels (moonstone to be exact) on the hardware. Pops of texture and color accentuate this cozy sofa. A shagreen and brass coffee table anchors this conversation area.
